BEYOND SUNDAY / STRATEGY

A clearer Sunday starts on Monday.

A weekly communication rhythm that gives your team room to think, create and serve.

Start with one sentence

Before opening a design file, ask your pastor or ministry lead: what do people need to understand, feel or do this week? Write the answer as one sentence. “Join our small groups” is a task. “Find people who will walk with you through the week” gives the task a human reason. Agree on the message before choosing the format.

Monday: gather the right information

Bring the message, ministry priorities, dates, registration links and approval owner into one brief. Give each request a clear audience and next step. If everything is the priority, your congregation has to decide what matters without your help. Choose one primary invitation and organize the rest around it.

Tuesday and Wednesday: build one connected story

Create the main announcement first. Then adapt it for email, social media, the website and in-service screens. Keep the language connected while adjusting the amount of detail for each setting. A screen needs fewer words than an email. A first-time guest needs more context than a regular attendee.

Thursday: review the experience

Check the details and the destination. Read the announcement on a phone. Tap the registration link. Ask a teammate unfamiliar with the project to explain the next step. Approve the message and creative together so that a late copy change does not undo a finished design.

Friday through Sunday: listen

Make space for questions. After the service, note what people still needed explained and bring that into Monday’s brief. This rhythm is a starting point, not a rule for every church. Adjust it to your staffing, service schedule and approval process.

Try this with your team

At your next planning meeting, finish this sentence together: “This week, we are helping ___ take the next step toward ___.” Use that answer to review every piece of communication.
